TWO YEARS OLD!!

Matthew is TWO!!

We can't believe Matthew is two years old already!  Here are some of his two-year highlights:

Weight: 28 lbs (55%)
Height: 36" (91%!!)

Over the last few months his vocabulary has increased dramatically and he talks ALL THE TIME now!  We love listening to him talk and sing.  He repeats just about everything we say and learns new words daily.  Some of our favorite phrases at the moment:
Of course!
Matthew's turn!
Matthew needs to watch Mickey Mouse.
Mommy, where are you??
Daddy, where are you??
Bailey, where are you??
Follow me, Mommy (or Daddy, Bailey, Grandma, etc)!
Matthew go fishing...catch fish!
Wake up!

He changes his voice now and if he is talking about a big truck he will make his voice really deep and gruff and say things like "That's a big truck!"  If he is sees a little baby or something he thinks is small and cute he will smile and raise his shoulders and say "So cute!" in a squeaky little voice.  He notices everything and remembers everything right now so we can't get away with anything around here.

"choo-choo" sandwiches (ham/cheese or PBJ sandwiches cut into train shapes with a cookie cutter)
macaroni and cheese

Cook

Watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Hit/throw any ball he can find around the house
Climb on anything and everything
Play outside

Play his guitar or piano and sing

We are so thankful for two wonderful years with Matthew.  He is smart, active, funny, strong-willed, sweet, and so precious.  We love him so much!



USA!

4th of July 

We participated in our neighborhood 4th of July parade again this year and Matthew loved it.  He waved his little flag and said, "USA, USA!"  He still says it every time he sees a flag.  :)  We spent the rest of the long weekend at Lake LBJ but failed to get any good pictures.  

He discovered pockets that day as well :)

Matthew apparently liked Jack's wagon better so he switched and rode with his buddy for the second half of the parade! 

First Astros Game

Since baseball is "America's sport" I will include these pictures here too!  We took Matthew to his first baseball game this summer.  Luckily we were in a suite so he could run around and we made it through the entire game...the Astros even won for us that day!  Matthew loved it and kept repeating, "Go Astros!" and "Hit the ball!"  Ever since then one of his favorite songs is "the baseball song" - Take Me Out To The Ballgame :) 

Summer Fun

We had a great summer!  We were busy so it flew by but we had lots of fun :)  Matthew's first choice is always to be outside so we spent most of our summer in the backyard and at the pool!
